Shurikens: Arms that are actually WORTH throwing

One of the biggest concerns about Shuriken Mastery users is the inability to either:
1) Keep a large stock of arms (the actual throwing item)
2) Keep higher level arms on hand

Issue #1 is solved by keeping spare Big Needles as reserve in case the better arms run out during training. Issue #2 is where this guide comes in. I will list the items that are actually worth throwing.

What defines an arm as a worthy item? Two things are considered for throwing arms: Weight and Throw AP.
The weight of any arm listed here is defined as:
Level req. = Weight * 10
For example, the level 130 arm weighs 13. This is why I use level in the ratio, not weight.
The usefulness of arms is simply defined as:
Throw AP ÷ (Weight * 10) ≥ 2.00
-or-
Throw AP ÷ Level req. ≥ 2.00
In other words, the good arms have a Throw AP:Level ratio of two or greater. Anything less generally isn't worth it because they take up too much weight and don't deliver the damage that better arms can. All base arms listed here have an effective ratio of 2.00.
In a nutshell:
Level req. = Value ÷ 3 = Weight * 10 = Throw AP ÷ 2
Blue applies to all arms in this guide, while red only applies to base arms.

If an arm is not mentioned in this guide, you should not actively gather that arm. If you happen to find an unmentioned arm, great - use it. But when you actually need to gather arms to use, look for the ones listed in this guide.

One quick note: the strongest arms can only be obtained through synthesis by Nadia, and they are all basically the base arm with added Throw AP. These 'super' arms are significantly stronger than their base arms while weighing the same, but keep in mind that synthesis can fail, so you might end up losing your base arm. This shouldn't be a problem if you have at least 36 DA, when synthesis has a chance to add 40% to the success rate.

Key:
Arm name: Name of the base arm
Level req.: Required level to use this arm
Where to obtain: Where you can get this arm, *'d means easiest method
Upgrades to: What this arm upgrades to, usually just adds a 'Super' prefix
with: The additional arm needed to upgrade the base arm
at: The town(s) where Nadia can upgrade this arm
Base Throw AP: Attack power of the base arm
Super Throw AP: Attack power of the super arm
Super effective ratio: Ratio of Throw AP to Level of the super arm

I'm missing a bunch of information from the last few entries because Nadia is absent from Carbigal and the Villa.

And just for the heck of it, I'll say where to drill for the complement items for synthesizing:
Fabric Wristlet : Desert Beach
Piece of Stone : Ghost Blue Caverns, Pyramid Dungeon
Ashtray : Relics Dungeon, Black Swamp Field
Roll Book : Phantom School
Blackboard Eraser : Phantom School

Ashtrays, Roll Books, and Blackboard Erasers are easy to obtain because many players drill in the locations that hold these and they hardly pick them up. Full-time throwers should stock up on Roll Books and Blackboard Erasers for future compounding; pay attention to Roll Books for now until Nadia is released in Carbigal.

Super Saw Blade Ring is currently the strongest arm obtainable in eTO.

Regarding Precise Pitch: it is generally a skill that shouldn't be obtained unless a thrower has a large stock of high-AP arms. Even so, the amount of damage that Precise Pitch adds to Shuriken Mastery is not worth the amount of TMp that is costs to master. When mastered, Precise Pitch grants a 2.4 multiplier, which is not high enough to make a good impression.

Review this chart to see the damage added by Precise Pitch versus not having it. The columns go by the levels of SM and PP as listed in the grey bar at the top, with the level of SM on the left and the level of PP on the right. Tea green rows are base arms, while olive green rows are super arms.

Thanks to this post by Zegridathes for the chart.

And I do believe that is it for now until I can get more information on the entries I am missing. Thanks to the Japanese Trickster Wiki for providing the info on throwing items. If you have any questions, I probably won't answer them becuase the answer is most likely in someone else's guide. I know that this probably won't solve issues of having a good stock of throwing arms, but at least you know which to keep and which to chuck now.
