what rule would YOOH like to see put into play at ibuki`s come back tourny? :]

--which will hopefully be soon o_o;

here`s a brief explanation of the rules written by our lovely ffrikku

Common rules used or proposed for use in card tournaments


Normal Rules
Standard card battle

Ranking/MP restricted
Similar to normal rules, but you must use cards that fall within the ranking range for the particular tournament and/or under the stated mp. common examples of this are 5-11, 640mp, and 7-9/200mp. for the first one listed, any cards that rank from 5-11 are legal. the 640mp variant usually goes along with a rank restriction as well (which can change according to however the host wants to do it), but the cards you can use all have to be 640mp or lower. 7-9/200mp aka limited battle was probably the first to feature both together, allowing only cards ranked 7, 8, and 9 that had 200mp or lower

Combo
One of the special card combinations (might take some looking up) are required as part of your hand. the rules typically choose either 2-card or 3-card ~the number of cards minimum that must be in the combo~ since only two 4-card combos exist.

2-Type (counter battle)
Your hand is limited to two types/colors + one green card. the host decides which types to use (power/magic/sense/charm)

5-Type
No decisions from the host here, each of the cards in your hand have to be a different type

5-Rank (?)
Never done before, but theoretically your 5 cards just need to be different rankings


Prototype rules:

E card (courtesy kaiji) <_<
Four completely irrelevant cards (player characters would work?) and one green, players taking turns as 'don' and 'looter' sides
the goal being for the don side to play the green card into a character card, and the looter side to catch the don with their own green card, the looter. if this doesn't make sense... watch kaiji ep15? need to figure out ways to make scoring work

10-card
The original attempt to make the single most balanced/complex/difficult format possible:
-players will pick 10 cards that will be the only cards available to construct their 5-card hands from (applies to both cavalier and giovanni games, the same 10 are used)
-each of the 10 need to be different number rankings, #1-15 available without restrictions
-the set needs to have 2 each of the 5 types/colors
snow helped introduce this to jTO before, but organization is difficult so it either requires all players to go by honor system or to have a ~really~ good host

hmm. i was thinking of hosting an exclusive tourny for veteran tourny goers. maybe that could be done? but. i was planninng on bringing out a new rule. o_o; so hmm.
