| What do you mean, precisely, when you say they sacrifice a lot of power? I was under the assumption that they dealt the most damage per second, and were the most efficient damage dealers. Am I wrong?
I do know that Make Up has severe drawbacks, as well. For one, your MP is constantly draining. Two, when Make Up ends your life and MP is cut in half. Three, you have pathetically low DP and HV so you take far more damage than other cats.
I still think it's worth it, out of personal preference. I mean, if I really wanted a totally awesome character stat-wise, I wouldn't have chosen cat at all :P Seems like all three branches of cat builds have their drawbacks, and I don't know how to make a good hybrid.
PS: No offense to your friend, but maybe it's just his own opinion? It's not like the MU cats are coming in droves saying that Make Up build sucks. Maybe it's just not his thing, and he chose the wrong build. However, I may turn up just like him, months and months from now, crying about how I wasted my life to level up and get Make Up

She meant that MU cats sacrifice alot FOR power. *nods*
Uhmmm, right now, I'm going the 4114 AP cat build with the exception that I'm distributing 3 to AP and 1 to DP per level. So far, I'm dishing out moderate damage while maintaining my ground; I wonder how my cat is going to end up in comparison to pure AP cats, HV cats, and DP cats. >__>;; Oh well, at least I'm having fun. ^__^V | | (Offline)

I personally have a AP cat in eTO, so i'll be going MU anyways, since i'm far too lazy to start a Evasion cat again (I have one in jTO). AP=funner >>

| I agree, Make Up looks really cool. So maybe Make Up isn't the ideal cat build, I'll give you that.
But what else do AP cats do? They have NO CHOICE but to be Make Up cats. Unless more skills are released, Make Up is the best route for them other than continuing to spam Power Blow for another hundred levels.
This would lead one to make the argument that AP cats suck overall, then. And I refuse to accept that, no matter what. Thus, Make Up.

Thus, Make Up. | yes very true, but people have to realize any other type besides AP is going to take too long to lvl up, you would have to power lvl most of the time, and using geldar throw takes alot of money.
anything either then AP is harder to maintain throughout the 1st job. | | (Offline)

| So for evasion cats... have we come to an agreement for the stat build? It's either 4114 or 3124... don't know which to choose or which is better for evasion cats. I'm gonna try 3124 and see how that goes. | | (Offline)

You also have alot more weight, don't have to worry about +weight pets or +weight bags.
Took me a long time to decide but after playing both thats my conclusion. | | (Offline)

| By looking at 3rd job skills i'd say Power cat will be the way to play, evasion if you want to hit like a deadbeat with the new 3rd job skill or power if you want to be a offensive / defensive hybrid.
Also talking to the level 180+ cats on jTO most of them prefer going AP and said HV cats are failing. I think everyone has a different opinion on this and so be it, i bet all 3 types of cats end up equal at the end of the day.

What ATTACK skills do HV's have at the end of the third job? they are practically for AP! | | (Offline)

| So AP is BETTER HV? Since most cat skills are for AP.
HV only has High Kick for 1st and 2nd(which makes it harder to level). Correct? | | (Offline)

| Would HV cats do more damage with two step than AP cats? Also, HV cats save points because they do not need make up and the other skills from make up
