So you get points, but you also get mail from these people and have to deal with canceling a magazine you never wanted, samples you may or may not need, and a whole lot of people now knowing your name and address and that you're not against filling out a survey. If they're anything like regular solicitors, they'll be on your back for the forseeable future, asking if you want a free this or that if you just DO THIS, and you'll have to go through heaven and hell to get them off your phone or mailbox.
It's like donating the the Red Cross or the American Lung Association. You can't do it just once. They bug you for more till you're sorry you ever did it in the first place. (Not that there's anything against donating to a worthy cause. I just wish they'd let you be.)
I guess that's my two cents and a bit more. I suppose if you like getting mail this would be the thing for you. | hmm,i agree with the spam mail, when i did my 1st survey i had so much spam that i made a new account and transfered all my contacts to it (like 3xx),but just read what i posted earlier, you can always get another email just for spam.oopz, sry for double posting. | | (Offline)

| Lolz, this is just like when iPods first came out, you actually had to chip in like a few dollars for their "Offers/Sponsors", to get the iPod, in the end it was just easier to BUY the iPod.. | | (Offline)

| Never mind, I'm not doing this. I don't want to register for 827692386 things I don't need.
Although it looks legit.

| I wouldn't bother, I'd rather spend money and BUY the myshop items, because you're going to have to answer phone calls, reply to email addresses, (Maybe chip in a few dollars as well), register paypal/credit card info, put your address and receive crapmail all the time about joining the army, god knows what else, I've done this before, I'm suprised every one is so confused about it, in the end they make the money because you're clicking on their 'advertisements' which pay them, endless chain, :\ | | (Offline)

| The site looks so legit and also, Admin/Mods really won't post there scam sites and makes us feel quitting the game if it's true.
I don't bother doing that coz it states that "US only" and I'm the other half of the world. LOL
Oh well! Anyone who wants to trust the site must wait for some hours/days for some confirmations.

| They make more money harvesting email addresses and personal information, then selling them than what people get in any extra points...
I wonder if it's against the ToS, never checked for this. | | (Offline)

Except you get less pay and you get to stay at home, hoooray!?
Basically, it's kinda of like a 50/50 deal kinda thing. You work to get 10 dollar, we split the 10 dollar. But wait, you didn't do any work, why did you get the money? Well Because I host this program, and the only way to get the money is through my boss, so you are actually paying me for connect with my boss to get the money that you worked for.
Pretty simple it sound, but it's really hard since you will be flood with things to do, delete, repeat.
And yes, by doing this, you will sometimes have to attract other into joining, so they will end up with more goons to do their dirty work. And in the end, they get tons of money, while you got just what you wanted.
So i can compare this to
Me giving 4 dollar to a person to do a job that worth 10 dollar. But since i found the job first, he had to pay me that extra 6 dollar and leaving him 4. But since he only needed that 4, it benefit him while giving me 6 dollar for doing nothing except asking a person to do something for less the value.

| i have some experience with this kind of advertisement..like get free stuff thing....and i dont have a good experience from my last encounter...I purportedly can get free PSP from my last encounter by either referring my friendsl or clicking of advertisements they had or advertise for them on my website and earn points from numbers of click from my visitors but i never received it cuz its too hard to get any referral. Unless u somehow own a site where thousand of ppl visited a day.
Anyways, in the end i think its the referral who earn most of the money thou.
This is like a Multi Level Marketing scheme (which i dislike).
Dont know bout this one but it looks the same... but this is still its a good thing for those who need cash. pretty sure there are ppl who willing to do this. There will be instances where it really works.. just like any other advertisement sites. :bone:

| Legit or not, I thought the MyTrickster staff was against that kind of ads, so I was very surprised to see it. It doesn't really seem against the ToS rules, though. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me in the end, as I don't live in the United States, and even if I did, I wouldn't bother.
I'm a little biased about that kind of ads in general... | | (Offline)

I'm a little biased about that kind of ads in general... | The servers don't pay for themselves. Baikin and Metal pay this out of their own pockets. I think the lag everyone is experiencing right now during this maintenance shows we need more bandwidth...
... however we cannot afford it without help.
The ad is non-intrusive (unlike ones we've tried in the past). The ads that re-directed and displayed questionable content were removed. | | (Offline)

On a sidenote, I noticed the slow loading times too. I thought it was my computer messing up again (I couldn't access Trickster for a few weeks until a week ago, so it was kinda scaring me). Glad to know I'm not the only one. I sure hope it gets better, like everyone else. It's not that I don't care about it, because I do. But I didn't expect an ad of that kind. I mean, I'm not the only one who was very surprised to see that ad, the general comments and a few other topics don't lie.
