Melee Lion

For adventurous people like me, try making a melee lion, its kind of like a fox...cept male :P

Anyways, some good stat builds would be

3142: good power (u ARE meleeing), and OK HV and DP

2242:Very balanced build, less powerful, but skills dont destroy your mp

Bonus Distirbution:
Ok, its basically the usual "pump into DA" but maybe every 10-12 lvls put 4 points into AP, or AC

Skills:
Sixth Sense, lvl 10/master, this affects your stone strike damage

Stone Stike:Master, this will be your primary attack for heavy damage

Heavy Carrier, since u are melee, u need to lug around those heavy pots

POSSIBLY sticky foot, lvl 10, depends on your fighting tactic, not reccamended

Armor Destructer, lvl 1-10, i think its a preq. but it helps lower the enemies DP so u can hit it harder...i think >.>

Lucky Seven: Master, :P dont u have to anyways (srry im clueless about this skill, cept that it raises Luck)

NOT SHURIKEN MASTERY: if u get this, ur screwed, cuz gunners are better ranged then melee lion

If you're going melee lion, since you're stuck with a 4 in Sense, might as well go crit... in which case, Lucky Seven would become a staple skill of the build. Instead of putting points into AC or AP, why not put those points into LK and get that no-miss crit hit with stone strike a little more often?

I don't really have any more insight on the melee lion, though... The fact that basic attack power must be exchanged with the Charm stats is pretty detrimental to melee if you don't just use stone strike. Perhaps a 1243 build for the MP and defensive stats, or a 1144 for more of the defense, in either case with DA and LK as the leveled up stats?

But speaking of stone strike crits... SS's power is determined by DA, right? So what determines its crit damage? Is it still DA? o_o

Actually, they reap benefits later on, like Gun Foxes when 3rd jobs are out.

dunno about a lion being a melee, it basically gets useless at second job, its only gun skills, if you try to be a melee and want to switch into a gunner that polly wont work out great for you because you used all your tm points on something you dont really need, better off being a fox to be melee

you wont need heavy carrier unless you like to go 90% of your weight and too lazy to even go back to town, its only for foxes for fear bag

armor dest is nice for pvp and normal but it only lasts for a few secs, so you will hit only about 1-2 hits of stone strike unless you want to be master that

sticky foot helps if your a 1144 melee lion because they have very low ac to hit stone strike with, if its a 3142 you wont really need it

lucky 7 is great for a fox/melee lion because if you hit more crits with your stone strikes its almost double damage X_X because crit is based on DA and stone strike is based on DA pretty good combo when you have lucky 7 to help you get a crit

Well I'd recommend LK instead of DA for melee lions because of the fortune hit. Also sticky foot helps both melee and gun lions since it decreases hv so you hit more and it stops their movement so you can move back and wait for the cooldown of your ss and fh. Also armour breaker allows you to do more damage. But you use a lot of mana pots; however, I personnally think mana pots are a lot cheaper than ammo.

Probably its because the lion and buffalo is still low level. Noob vs Noob, lookat their head gear.

full luck lion going for fotune hit cant be melee because fortune hit is a gun atk skill not dagger atk skill, also trying to lvl a full luck lion is hard sauce XD need to be funded a lot for item quests to lvl that up

Actually Fortune Hit can be used with a melee weapon too. Here is a video of it from that lvl 200+ Lion:

dangggggggggg dark sight adds alot of extra damamge to shots and emelee lions... hmmm i think i can just whip out a dagger and do like mild damamge withit to train and save bullets or something

Interesting idea and that's a good way to explain each skill for Melee Lions, however, you can fix up your guide a bit more so it sounds more professional.

Between each new subject (Distributing Growth Points, Bonus Distribution (and Explanation), Skill Description) you could bold it to make it more visible to others.

Explain a bit more about Sticky Foot. Depending on your tactics won't help others visualize what tactics you're talking about. You could just say that it could help others from preventing mobs from coming after you or something.

Armor Destructer will be helpful for Melee Lions because it'll lower anyone's Defense Points (DP). Since you're not relying on "Weak Against Gun Damage", you'll be going for enemies "Weak Against Physical Damage."

And to hook a few people trying out Melee Lion guides, you may want to include what they can gain during their Second Job from the requirements that you used in your First Job.

I made a melee lion recently and I'd really like to add a little insight to your build, by recommending my own. It's not exactly what I did on Rhiney, but I'd still highly recommend it. Oh yeah, and Rhiney's 1144 build. Vitality+DA for damage=teh win. Although I'll have to rely on AC accessories and Gun Booster for my AC.

Level 10 Stone Strike
Master Sixth Sense
Level 1 Armor Destructor
Master Lucky Seven
Master Compound Master (Only if you're a mostly/pure LK/compounder lion, like me, but if not, skip it)

2nd job advice:
You'll need Gun Carrier for 2nd job, since inventors use gun skills mostly, but Lucky Shot/Fortune Hit (depending on which translation you're going with) can be used with daggers, too. Gunstock mainly uses DA, but AC is factored in, too, so you'll probably want Gun Booster for that.

Compounder lion advice:
I added DA until level 20. Ever since then, I've only boosted LK. You may want to go pure LK, though.

Final note:
I kinda screwed up and got Basic Detection (which isn't necesarry 'cuz Advanced Detection only requires a level 10 Stone Strike and relies your DP rather than a fixed depth, but I'm not 100% sure lions can even get that skill). Oh, and the "Melee Lion" link is a link to my melee lion video, Maybe I'm a Lion.
