| Itmes are spawned in fixed locations. DA doesn't affect that.
THe only thing DA affects is the chance of you saying "Item is under here/item is not under here". With 90 DA the chance is 100%, so DA foxes basically always fail to drill unless there's an item down there. Mainly saves time because they don't have to dig, dig, dig, and find nothing.

Does this means the fox will say "item is not under here" even if there's an item there?(since you said 100%, I might misunderstood something).
Since you said items spawn at fixed locations, I presume the statement I made, "spawn up at the same place but randomly" is true? Meaning the stuffs spawn at the same place but the stuff you get from that place will be random?
Sorry if this annoys you, I just need to confirm. | | (Offline)

| What I meant is, if there's no item under there, the 90 DAer will always say "item is not under there". Saves you some time and a drill life.

| The fixed locations bit just means that, at some point, and item spawns there and you can either drill it up or not. Which item it is seems to be decided at time of spawn (this was indicated by the right-after-maintenance drill-fests people used to go on), and no stat can affect that.
In some places and for some drills, you'll save a lot of time (for slower drills and/or very deep ground) or, for some combinations of drill + ground type, two drill life, which can be important for the currently unobtainable AD drills.

| Right click some of the drills... They'll say they're effective "for soft soil such as sand" or whatever. That means each drill attempt will use up 1 drill life on that type of soil, and 2 drill life on other types.
Some drills (such as I think Chaos drill) don't tell you what ground they're good on, and you just have to guess. In the cases of diamond, chaos, and gao, it doesn't really matter since they're the most easily available drills for their depths.
Myshop drills work well (1 drill life per use) on any ground as far as I know.
As for the time-saving idea, it just means that the less time you spend getting "Nothing found" when you reach the bottom of whatever ground you're drilling, the less time you waste. The 90 DA detection just tells you 100% of the time whether you have anything in the ground.

| And even dragons need to drill in the snow hill mines for an alexandrite. (Adamantites are common enough to just buy, though.)

| Lol Drilling depending on LK... ~.~
-Depends on myself-
As for the duplication method, this has been discovered a while back already...it's true for me with Black Parmas in Techi 2 especially as well as Precious Mine ores IE Alexandrites, Adamantites, Ori-Harkons and Zircons.
This method was actually changed, if anyone of you guys have noticed. Back then, if you log out of one map, and log back in, you'll still be on the same map. This works for duplication but the log out and logging back in on the same map has been configured so that you don't duplicate. =.=
I've been drilling for a year...~.~; This should've been old news to any drillers back then. Lol. Nonetheless...you can sort of continue to duplicate items because as long as you remember the SAME exact spot where you drilled it on one server, you could do it in the other. Just judge the guess by spaces from the wall - It works for me all the time...after all I did find like a smutload of Precious Mine 171+ refines...
CARRY ON WITH THE DRILLING
And yes, it is not for the impatient. Those impatients will only complain that they don't have another method for funds and say F*** drilling. Lol. Nub. :0

LK does not affect it at all. the items in the ground are fixed... more lk doesnt give you better items or anything like that. | | (Offline)

| The only thing LK will help you with in your drilling is blocking monsters' hits while you drill and dodging monsters' magic spells... which are two functions LK performs normally anyway. Other than that, LK will not affect any aspect of drilling whatsoever.

| Lots of things on that page need to be updated.. orz. Maybe I'll write up something in a hour or so X(.
/edit: The digging page seems to be an obsolete relic, we have something decent at http://www.mytrickster.net/wiki/index.php/Drilling .
