I could use some newbie advice.

Hello everybody.

I'm new to the game, but has been reading up on guides and ran around a bit exploring. However I feel like starting a serious character and I have settled for a fox!

From reading the stickied guides here, I understand that 1,1,4,4 or 1,2,4,3 is the way to go?

But I'm having a terrible time deciding on which one as I dont really have any experience with the game, I have this fear of regretting choices later on when I have already spent time on a character

What do you guys think is a good choice?

I'm a 1 1 4 4 Fox with all bonus points into perception and i must say...the first levels before level 20 were depressing because my friend and many other melee characters such as charm and power types would level so much faster. I was drilling away my early levels to about lvl 10 because my normal attacks basically did 0 damage to monsters at my own level. The thing is, once you get perception high (DA) high enough, and get the lv 20 fox pet +2 DA, and knife weapon +2 DA, you will easily be doing 600+ damage to monsters. Im currently level 22 and I kill a level 25 monster in 2 hits, this is much faster than other comparable characters at my level. So yea, the first few levels were hell but I think I'm liking what im seeing right now. Delayed gratification pays off well. .

My only problem is that I have trouble keeping up with purchasing mana pots because stone strike isnt cheap. 57 mp. and eTO has this buggy problem where lv 23 monsters drop as little as 1 g. THats right 1g. On Jtrickster, even lvl 15 monkeys gave around 50 g u.u.

I'm looking forward to level 20

I'm leaning towards trying out 1,2,4,3 for more MP I think. But maybe I just got the wrong attitude towards potions, I come from World of Warcraft were you could only use one each 2 min, so you tried to avoid using them.

We'll see how it goes!
