| First-hit gun criticals ARE possible! ... just difficult to do I'm getting better at doing first-hit criticals with guns. Most players believe that timed criticals are based on the damage that last appeared, a.k.a. the "anchor" indicator. Well that's wrong - timed criticals are based on the reload gauge.
A little hard to prove with a screenshot... There are no other monsters around me, dead or with a green marker, so I didn't use the "shoot after the number disappears" trick to give myself an anchor (I don't have Invincible Reload; if you want me to, I'll prove it with a screenshot later). What I did was time how long it takes until I can shoot a critical shot after the gauge fills up, which in this case was about 1.3 seconds. There are some ways to empty your gauge:
-Change maps
-Start drilling, then right click to stop drilling
-W/O Quick Reload: Do any of the above, then just stay moving
-W/O Invincible Reload: Get hit*
Then simply time how long after the gauge fills can you shoot critical, then just use that as an anchor. No, you don't actually have to literally time it with like a stopwatch or something.... I just winged it in my head by ticking like a metronome. If you've heard a metronome ticking, think of it that way: in your mind, have some sort of counting system, and you can pull off first-hit criticals.
* : If you don't have Invincible Reload yet, you most likely can't do this against aggro monsters.

| Timed crits are done by clicking 1 second after a gun finishes reloading. I tested it on gun type 2 and 4, wooden gun, renaissance gun, military gun, and pierce gun with the help of a stopwatch. | | (Offline)

| The time will vary. It's just reload time *1.5 for crits. I thought everyone knew this by now. | | (Offline)

| Really? Timed Crits vary by the total reload time now? Maybe it was because I tested it during beta.
Maybe I should do more testing after the maintenance.

| Anyone know the timer for the gas compound gun(myshop gacha gun)?
I got it a few time when the number were in mid air and before disappearing but never got it to work more than 2 times.
So if anyone know would be great. | | (Offline)

| For shame >:O getting a gun at level 17 XD
I sort of knew this...just didn't know how to describe it. It was like...Okay, I'm getting criticals the same time I click at that same time...but why?"
Thanks for clearing it up | | (Offline)

So I'm clearing this up for those who don't know. I'm sure you pros out there already knew this. | | (Offline)

That means it is possible to make your first shot a Critical, by simply digging. (Since digging makes you reload for whatever reason). | Discovered this back in CB, since different guns had different crit-timers, and the only difference between guns are the reload time, 1+1=2 :) | | (Offline)

| Just found out now that it's based on when you click, not when your character actually shoots. I clicked on a monster across the screen, and I still got critical even after running all the way there because I clicked on time. | | (Offline)
