| Regarding Basic Detection Skill Let say if basic detection skill will become 100% accurate in telling where the drop is and when mastered will not fail.
Would it be worth it to spend points on it? Or is it better to just do random drilling?

so...i'm guessing in the "before" picture, it would say items are down there, but if you tried to drill, nothing was there? | |

BUT, it doesn't tell you the space between each of the little circles. It does not understand the concept of overlapping.
But after some future enhancement, the skill will now tell you the overlapping spaces if there is an item. So if it was used in the same spot as the "before" picture, there would be 2x as much item popping up as it normally would. Because of the overlapping space containing items.

| The depth count would still be 100ish max if I recall but I'd still rather just have a mule char be my dig finder for events rather than get it on a main.
There are going to be a lot more circles on the floor in the future | | (Offline)

There are going to be a lot more circles on the floor in the future | But its annoying to keep switching characters over. If one does plan to get the advance detection for lion which goes to 150m, as oppose to the current 110m for basic, The basic detection skill is required.

| Who said anything about switching chars over? It's a digging mule that's convenient for events and certain quests such as episode 1.
It's a lot of tm to use if you plan on getting detection skill to mastery that could be used on some other skill, hence it's better to just make a char for digging, doesn't even take that long. | | (Offline)

| If I were to make a digging character, assuming they fix BD/ID to detect every cell and not just ΒΌ of all cells in its range, I'd get them both. BD is a lot more fun to spam and never fails at mastery...
<edit>Is it just me or did they censor a rose wand in the after picture? >___>

| Full coverage for BD plz. (instead of the current 25% coverage)
I'm a strong proponent of BD anyways.
I took BD in place of L7...
OVERLAPPING DETECTS NAO!

| I don't get what the overlapping circles mean. . .
Anyways, when you want to drill you just press d and aim the dot of the cursor on the bull'seye of the circles? | | (Offline)

But they never overlap. As you can see in the BEFORE Picture. They are neatly lined up next to each other.
BUT that is the FLAW of the skill. Because between each of these little red circles you see in the BEFORE picture, there are spaces. YES there are one gap between each little red circle that potentially holds items.
The current version of the skill CANNOT indicate that. Therefore the skill is a FLAW and useless for many people.
But later the skill will work in a way that it will indicate EVERYTHING. Even those that are between every red circles you see in the BEFORE picture. Therefore, it might become actually worth awhile to get because it saves so much time on many digging maps.

| Ah well, it's not like foxes have many useful skills to spend TM on, so getting it doesn't sound entirely useless. On the other hand, most of the stuff you'd find in the middle of the map will be pots and coins... >_>

We hab overlaps now?
in eTO?
Is it still 7x7 with smaller area or is it 13x13 and full coverage?
Either way is shmexy.

Either way is shmexy. | yes its FULL COVERAGE WITH 100% detection rate. I checked it and test it with the x-mas quest. Works 100%
The circle got resized so it will only fit one item. But the overall radius of the detection skill did not change.
PS attached picture for proof

regards,
wacky | I am not sure about ID, but it was said to be base off your DA which allow it to go down as deep as your DA allow. But its very slow in casting and has a long cool time. AND it can FAIL.
But BD when mastered cannot fail and cast very fast. It can also be spammed very fast. But it only goes down to 110m so if you want deeper, then your out of luck. Then again, 110m covers many good digging maps.
So thats the overall picture.
