DA-fox in distress

Recently I've returned to Trickster after somewhat of a hiatus. The newly released 3rd jobs, and particularly the hybrid gunner fox, caught my eye. Are these gunners actually better off than pure DA-foxes like myself (in terms of PvE, PvP and GvG)? If so, only by a small margin or is quite a significant difference?

Should I decide to stick with my current pure DA-build, then I'd like to know how to proceed skill-wise. My TM level is currently 62 (with 4 unused TM points) and with Stone Strike and Sixth Sense both mastered and Shuriken Master and Gun Booster both at level 10. Should I master the latter two? If so, where do I distribute my points after that?

Foxes are being shortchanged by NTreev now, hybrid foxes > pure foxes BIG TIME.

I'm curious, Nyaruato, what do you base this on? I'm also considering respeccing, and I was wondering how hybrid > pure... obv. you have more skills and lucky hit, but are there other benefits?
I thought pure would be good for pvp, wot w/ hide and all.

I'm interested, as lots of active ppl on MT have said this, I just want to know the reasoning.

I'm attempting to raise a 1144 pure AC fox to Hunter Lord without resorting to MyShop. I'm using Stone Strike + Sixth Sense + DA equips to level. I've managed to make it to lv 110, but I'm starting to lose interest in it....

IMO making a Hunter Lord (hybrid 3rd job fox) without MyShop is just too tedious. I mean it seems like the end does not justify the means no matter how you look at it. In other words: if you don't have MyShop.....just make a gun lion.

Which is kind of sad since Hunter Lords are basically gun lions. So they get to take advantage of gun combat like lions do. I'm sure Ntreev will eventually get around to updating later game areas (and possibly changing monster weaknesses) so SS foxes are not shafted so much. But there's no guarantee when or if that will happen.

And I'm probably going to take some time away from my AC fox. If it ever reaches 3rd job, it's going to be after a long break. The only reason I've gotten it this far is I'm stubborn.

ah ok... but then using a respec @ 3rd job wouldnt be a bad idea then?
I was thinking about respeccing from 1144 pure DA to pure AC...

I suppose I'll hold on to my pure DA-build for now, though I'd really like someone to point out the exact advantage a 3rd hybrid Fox has over a pure DA one (if any).
