Confused Fox :(

Okay, I'm a pure 1144 DA fox at level 33, And i was following the eTrickster Fox Guide. (the Cookie Cutter build one)

I have maxed Stone Strike and Sixth Sense, and I was following the guide and I got Gun Carrier.

I'm not sure I should have gotten Gun Carrier, and seeing as my guide indicates I shouldn't put any points into Shuriken Master, did I make a mistake? :O Because I know Shuriken Master is important for foxes.

And if what I'm doing is right, whats the importance of Gun Carrier?

that guide is... quite outdated.

Gun carrier is a prerequisite for Gun Booster, which raises your accuracy by 20 since you'd probably be saying something about Stone Strike's accuracy sooner or later.

Shuriken toss is a good skill, get it and master it BEFORE you get gun booster.

Also, another point of advice: don't follow the guide like it's some kind of a religous law!

uh... there's only one skill, shuriken toss. If you're referring to precise pitch NO, don't get it.

Also Gun Carrier is if only you intend to pvp/boss quite a bit because it was suggested BEFORE the revolution came which heavily reduced monster HV.

You can skip gun carrier first, you know.

i suggest you don't get the gun carrier.. waste of 5 tm points... as a fox myself, i also miss even to torrobies using stone strike... i dont know why...

Matter, you miss because Foxes have FAIL AC.

Gun Booster becomes important... basically when you're like 130+. The skill Shuriken MASTER (not Precise Pitch) is good. It's a staple in the Fox life. Seeing as you are only level 33, just restart before you become attached and have to some money to "heal" your problem.

I got to 170 without Gun Booster. I don't miss much even training on mobs twice my level. It's a waste unless you're going to become a hybrid gunner.

Gun Booster was a luxury skill, no more, no less. True, it shaves off about 9 HV that you don't have to worry about from whatever you're hitting, but:

1) You'd probably find that your hit rate wasn't so bad to begin, in which case balancing 20 AC with 25 TM doesn't really make much sense.

2) Monster HV took a nosedive after Revo. You can get by without the skill for training and bossing purposes.

3) 20 AC in the grand scheme of things won't help you much--if at all--in PvP/GvG. You could have been learning Shuriken Master for a little more than half the TM of all the points needed for a mastered Booster. The most important skills for melee foxes in the beginning and mid-game are Stone Strike, Shuriken Master, and Sixth Sense. Comboability and damage. Hit rate's just something you'll have to put up with, and even pre-Revo, hit rate wasn't that bad. It was just a bunch of whiny people going "Oh ***s! I can't tough it out because I need to see PWNAGE every millisecond I play!" Aside from that, Lucky Seven and Aura of Luck are luxuries, although they have a lot more use than a measly 20 AC buff that doesn't grow as you grow. Landmine is a useful--albeit situational--skill. Pouch is a no-no for most foxes, although I'll concede that Heavy Carrier is nice (HC is a luxury, as well). Your debuffs are all luxuries. Invincible Drill, Basic Detect, and Item Detect are all luxuries.

In other words, work the core, (Stone, Shuri, Sixth, Lucky, including Armor Destructor lvl 1 in its calculations), then prioritize the luxuries from there. Prioritizing the luxuries should be based on what you want to do.

^ Exactly. At your level, it's best to maximize your TM points by getting the essentials first and maxing them, namely your primary attack skills: Stone Strike, Shuriken Master, 6th Sense. They're the ones that will level you and gain you more TM points to spend for those "luxury" skills Fiery mentioned. Everything else can wait until you have pts to spare.
