Vista - No Sound?

I'm not sure whether someone posted this solution or not...but, anyway...I'll post on how to solve the no-sound issue.

Read this first:-
- You must login as Administrator
- Makesure you've up-to-date Vista drivers for your sound, gfx, and latest DirectX
- Try update your Windows Vista first, it might contain some bug fixes

- First, start Trickster Online just like normal, click on GameStart button, no sound? Its normal...just follow the next picture

- Then, bring up Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL->Start Task Manager, or just right-click on taskbar->Task Manager[/b].
- Go to Services, and find an entry:- Audiosrv and right-click on it, and select Stop Service
- Don't close Trickster Online or Task Manager yet.

- Ok, restart the Audiosrv service by right-click and select Start Service.
- Close Trickster Online, and also your Task Manager.

- Then, you can start your Trickster Online normally...but this time, after you clicked GameStart button..walla...I can hear the sound!!...lol..
- You can continue open your favourite mp3 player too ^_^...

Note::-
- You only need do this ONCE, until...if
- You'll need go through this process again if you've restarted your computer
- Don't ask me why, ask Microsoft aka M$

I found out that if you run a Youtube video while playing, Trickster sound works.

^ Some people still have sounds issues even with youtube, wmp playing in background...I've tested it all @_@

XORaccoon: Go to your Account settings, change your account type to Administrator

I am on administrator. O_o And only my brother and I use this computer.

I still have some problems with Vista... (of which I stated in this post)

For one, while Trickster is running, regardless if sound works or not, sound is disabled for the rest of the system. That is, If Trickster is on at all, no other program can run sound. It's like Trickster disables all other sounds.

Then there's the frame-skip issue. Vista just isn't a good OS to play games on. Yeah, I know this is off topic. No matter what I try to do with my system, Trickster still experiences heavy lag. The Frame Skip option in-game doesn't do any either.

StudyPunkRockism: Did you update your chipset, motherboard, graphics, sound to Vista compatible drivers? If not, get it from their official website "/

You might want to disable/terminate your AntiVirus before you continue...since G.Guard might crash with some AntiVirus in Vista, such as Kaspersky

The action got denied, which I got when I try to stop the audio thing.
However, When I try to turn on some music before open trickster, trickster has sound but too troublesome...
has any other resolves? I am the administrator of my pc by the way.

Other than restart the service, opens a song before you starts trickster...there's no other choice, unless NTREEV UPGRADE/Update their gd-ed GayGuard module...

er..I mean GameGuard.

i just got my new laptop and installed trickster. at first there is no sound. then i restarted the computer and played some music then OPENED trickster.. and boom i can hear BGM of the login screen! XD

my brother tried this, his action got denied. Now he has gameguard problems so he cant even go on now ._.

i solve this problem on my vista by opening a video on youtube/veoh or any other video streaming site, playing at least the first few seconds, then pausing the video and opening trickster
